"The Death-Off"
Death Off Pictures
The "Death Off" is an annual competition between the Re-enactment Club and the Drama students. All students are eligible to participate in the contest. Before the contest, you must have training from Mr. Robins in how to perform a staged death and what happened in the actual deaths by musket fire (so you know what you're trying to imitate). The categories for death are as follows: a. Instant death by musket fire - solo death. b. Wounded by musket fire - solo acting with possible friends to help you off the field or act as "props". c. Death by cannon fire - group death as the entire group is mowed down by cannon fire. Final decisions on these deaths are by the War of 1812 Re-enactors. d. Crowd pleaser - solo death that has the biggest amount of applause and crowd noise.
Special features this year: Mr. Robins is including a prize for each category..... Also, there will be a display of stage hand-to-hand combat with stage knives and tomahawks (students may only watch this one).
See this website for practice times, dates, and the competition date.
